Hey, I've got an E89 LCI without comfort access. Looking to go down the Carly route at some point in the near future. Could the same things be achieved with that rather than by using the SmartTop? I think as it's LCI it already opens/closes up to 25mph already, so just wondering how much benefit I'd get from it.

Carly won’t give you one touch roof operation :?

Ah right. I am tempted, but my car is still under the 1y BMW warranty so don't want to take any chances yet in case they try to invalidate my warranty next time it's in. I know it's not too complicated to do, but might forget to remove it if it ever has to go in!

I had the module in a previous E89 and when I bought my brand new / off the shelf 35is in Aug 16 I told the dealership I wanted the module moved into the new car. They agreed without any hesitation - a BMW main dealer fitted it so they can hardly complain.

The system can be de activated by some use of the indicator stalk and become invisible - but when my car goes in I get the desk clerk to make a note on the job sheet that there is a one touch up or down module fitted - that covers any potential health and safety issues.

Ps - best money I’ve spent and I’m surprised it’s hung around on here for so long. Don’t worry about the box either - it nothing fancy and it’s not likely to go back into it.

£225 takes this home

I’ll take it! 😀 I’m in France at the moment but will be back in the U.K. for a week commencing 26th August if you can hold it until then. I’ll message you about paying for it now.

Greg, forget it. I don’t understand why you put something up for sale and when I agree to buy it you fart about. You’re not the only one to have better things to do with their time. I’ll let someone else have the dubious pleasure of trying to deal with you! :poke:

I told you I'd be in touch today. I just buried my mum this morning so going to have a few drinks before I head home to catch up. Sincere apologies the afternoon was too late for you.

Best of luck.

Greg, I’m very sorry to hear about your mother. Perhaps you could have explained the situation in a quick PM. If you get back to me later this afternoon then I will pay you for the module. You have my sympathies.
