Hi all,

I have removed active suspension it was leaking from all 4 corners changed to Bilstein pro kit. Fitted easy but left car with alarms on dash... relating to old suspension. My question is in the Uk will this fail an MOT...???? For suspension disconnected alarms electronically??

Trying to either code out with Protool or stick some 2.5 ohm resistors on to load the original system so car thinks suspension still there....

Thoughts/help. ???

Cheer Guys many thanks for the support. I found some info on the net and followed it to the letter. Once I cleared faults globally it worked now have the OK! On the dash.
In brief unplug EDC module both white and blue plug, then disable using Protool in the location stated then finally clear faults globally.

How much did the removal & replacement cost and are you happy with the Bilsteins?

Same question really and does the kit come with springs. I currently have a snapped rear spring and I am reluctant to replace with another OEM spring that will inevitably snap anyway; plus I have the adaptive suspension which has already been replaced-previous owner and again will inevitably go again. Cheers

Hi, the kit cost £650 quid all in with shocker and suspension springs etc. Fitted really easy but the back springs On my car is a tad too low. I plan to put the original springs back on. It’s a weekend job then it all needs to be realigned.
My car is 3.0 msport so its low anyway will pop a picture up. For a repaired shocker electronic type and regas it was 350 quid and all were leaking, so took the plunge. But its really does feels nice now, firm but not too firm.

Sorry keep getting broken off. The cost on the web is 650 quid my old suspension pissed oil everywhere and would have took a dive at mot so changed the lot for Bilstein pro kit.
The original can be refurbed but it’s expensive around 1.5 k so for me it was a no brainier and this is just my weekend toy.

No garage around me would fit it unless they were getting it popping there markup on etc and then fitting so it would have been expensive. Drove with the disconnected alarms on only sorted recently as found out it won’t pass mot with EDC warning light on the dash display. Really pleased with the full suspension mod feels like a new car. But the original suspension was totally shot! Didn’t want to fit coil overs not my thing and it’s more expensive unless you get cheap crap stuff.
