easy question for E89 owners

Looking to get back into Z4 ownership after selling my E85 last autumn. Looking at an E89 now.
One of my favourite features of the E85 was that you could see the bonnet if front of you from the drivers seat. Is this
still a feature of the E89? I might have to travel quite some way to get the model I want and I don't want a wasted journey!
Thanks

But whether you can or not looking on the bright side some E89s had PDC on the front!

Thanks. I think that's a yes. Not worried about parking - just like to see the bonnet stretching out in front on a sports car.

I live near three hump-back bridges, each of which disappears behind the bonnet as the E89 approaches.

The only other cars I've had that could do this disappearing trick were a 4.2-litre Jag and a 7.4-litre Buick.

I hate driving over bridges for this reason. Had one near miss where it looked like someone was going to collide with the underside of my car!!

Can’t see a way to mitigate without a horn sound prior.

Yep. I just avoid them when I can.

Worse still is driving into a setting sun. In all seriousness, if I had to do it often, I'd have the bonnet wrapped with a matt finish.

Sometimes if I know there is a bridge, I will use a different car!

Yes, especially after a fresh wax.

Are you all trying to turn the appeal of this car into a disadvantage? The long bonnet is something that I adore about it. I understand it sometimes makes things a little more difficult, yet being so close to the back of the car creates other advantages (for example when backing out of somewhere).

You must have a different E89 from mine, which has horrendous blind spots. :?

Loads of bonnet that’s for sure.
Only downside we find is long nose coming up to junctions where visibility is bad.
Great car though even in the 2.0 form it’s still quick, ours is a 2016 model.

I just see it as "I've got such a big engine, I can't see anything from behind it"
But seriously, I have never had any problems with front visibility, probably because you usually drive forward, so have a lot of time to see the things that are in front before they get too close and disappear hidden by your bonnet. Coming out of junctions is a little challenging, indeed, but not that bad. Back visibily, on the other hand, is just excellent!

It is what it is.

Long bonnets look amazing, but is it the best driving position? Probably not.

The 911 is the way it is for a reason!

Personally I much prefer long bonnet cars, AMG GT, Z4 etc, but this is an emotional preference. If one were to be 100% scientific and want the best driving position, it would have to be a Porsche or a Range Rover.

Z4 has ok visibility, it’s something you get used to.
I love mine, and plan to keep it as long as I can!

The length of the bonnet on the 911 is governed, first of all, by the position of the engine.

I love how the car looks with its enormous bonnet, I think any shorter would be a loss for the looks of the car. Especilly since the weight distribution is 50-50 (at least on the ones with the 2 liter engine). It just makes sense any way I look at it.
