Z4 e89 2014 roof won’t completely go up?

Hi
I’m new to this forum having bought my car 15 months ago.
I had an issue this morning whereby the roof was up and the car kept chiming that the roof wasn’t closed.
I have opened it and went to close it again, but now the third stage of the close (back window section) won’t come down so I have to open it again. This doesn’t close the windows so I’m assuming the sequence isn’t completing.
Does I
Anyone recommend an Indy garage in the Nottingham are that deals with this type of issue? I did read about someone in the Sutton area but can’t find the post.

Any help would much appreciated.

Worth replacing the salmon relays first (these are cheap and easy to do - check out the many threads on here about them), but it might be one of the many issues that affect the roof (wire breaking/microswitches). Plus checking the codes to tell you if any issues are stored (which is not always the case). There are many threads on here about roof issues as its a common issue it seems although I have been problem free (he says touching a big plank of wood). Also check the car battery to see if its the original and consider replacing it.

Robbie Z4 is the roof expert, however, from your brief description this sounds like the boot is not locking in place so a microswitch is a potential cause.

thanks, i'll try to get into the boot to have a look at the microswitches and the relays.
thanks for your reply.
