Did you buy yourself or get a garage to map?

Bought myself and very easy to download etc not complicated like an engine map .

What’s the different stages like?

The only way I can describe it really is Stage 1 is like when you push the sport button and everything quickens up . Stage 2 and stage 3 are incremental increases again . I drive around in Stage 2 most of the time as stage 3 is quite rapid but great fun . If you look on you tube their are plenty of videos that can explain and show it better than me . It also shows you the how your gearbox is performing , clutches etc , so you can tell if there is trouble looming . It really is very easy to use if you are sticking to the in built stages . If you want to play around with your own settings it is still very easy to use but you obviously need to know what you are playing around with . I can safely say that you wont want to go back to standard after getting it .

Forgot to mention you will need a cable ( I`m sure you have one bigwinn) to download it via the OBD socket .

You did it yourself as opposed to a garage?

I was going to use iPhone but it says that you can’t use that for the e86

And my laptop is ancient so not sure if it will work on the pc I use for inpa

Its not something you need to get a garage to do . It really is very easy . Much easier than downloading INPA . I use an older laptop for INPA and it can deal with xHP but is a bit slow .

Fantastic commitment on the exhaust front, sounds epic. Steering wheel looks brilliant, and I love the new dials which are reminiscent of the Alpina dials in colour terms

This says it can be used for e series cars for xHP https://www.mlperformance.co.uk/products/mhd-universal-wifi-obdii-flash-adapter

Fantastic thread, with some excellent work done! What was the outcome of the remap, with the milvs and exhaust in situ? Any (noticeable) increase?

Unfortunately not . Had a nightmare session with problem after problem with software issues which we are still trying to get to the bottom of . Spent 4 hrs trying to get it sorted with no real improvement apart from a slight rise in torque . These things happen but frustrating . I will post an update when we hopefully get to the cause of the issue . The restricting point now is the intake manifold which I could change to a N54 intake to give more power at higher revs but it will lose some lower down torque which I dont really want to do .

Subframe powdercoated and Powerflex bushes fitted . Drexler 3.73 LSD bought from craiginuk  fitted with Powerflex bushes also . Took it out today and noticed the difference straight away . Better on pulling away and felt even more planted through the twisties . Hoping to get out in it again tomorrow and push it a bit harder depending on conditions and tractors :)

Sorry to hear that, hopefully you get it sorted out soon. Very much enjoying the work done so far, will be watching future updates with interest.

Ah nice one. Meant to check how you are getting on. Glad you’re noticing the DIFFerence 👍

That's impressive work on your rear suspension and LSD fitment. I'm glad you can really feel the difference after all that work.

I didn`t do the work this time I left that to my local friendly garage guy :) Very happy so far just trying to get out in it as much as possible before sorning in December . Local roads round here are covered with mud etc before you get to the main roads .

I have to say this for me is one of the best threads on the forum of late. Really interesting stuff on the exhaust manifold, doing something not many bother with due to cost and so on - and the whole direction of the build is just my kinda thing. Bravo!
