Z4 E86 Coupe modifications so far .............Latest update - PCB Flappy Paddle change to left down change and right up .

Looks beaut , and very functional. Soz about the slip with the drill , I know that feeling.

Again, Exellent job!

Finally got round to taking some photos of what spray painting I had done .Some may have seen it at Zedfest . I have had the roof painted Carbon Black so that in certain lights it shows as dark blue and I had the tailgate done in the car colour of Montego Blue but left the rear of the tailgate as clear carbon . I think it turned out ok as the carbon on the back goes with the rear diffuser . The roof doesn`t show as blue as I would have liked but it is much better than the clear carbon which looked ok from 6 feet away but not a joy to look at close up . It definitely flows much better now .

Bloody Hell!
I suggested to my wife that as I'm 60 in October I should get registration MR Z4 60
She suggested I would be better to get MR Z4 64 as it's the year I was born.

I couldn't find it anywhere. That was only 48 hours ago. Spooky!

Have you thought about having Montego blue fade into the carbon on the edge?

Thanks to Jenks for giving me the idea of fading the Montego Blue on the tailgate which led to how it finally turned out

Yes that is Spooky ! and me too November 1964 and I couldn`t believe my luck when I saw the reg number on DVLA . Inside I`m still 21 and sometimes even younger with my sense of humour but my body soon tells me something different :) When I see footage on TV ( you tube ) of what was happening in 1964 onwards I find it hard to believe how different everything looks . Horse drawn coal carts etc . Now I am sounding really old

Just noticed the rear diffuser. Where did you get that from Tony? I need one

That came from https://burkhart-engineering.com/shop/bmw/bmw-ag/bmw-z3-z4-z8/kohlefaser-diffusor-passend-fuer-e85-e86-z4-bmw/ . Bloody expensive especially when you include import tax etc but it is a quality item . It comes with an adhesive pattern to cut out the rear bumper ready for fitting . Easy to do . If you go for it make a copy of the template as I have had a couple of people asking me for it as they have bought original BMW items but don`t have the template .

No definitely not taking it off and putting it on the new one and don`t really want to go through getting a new carbon tailgate for the new one ...........at the moment :)

Surely all your lightweighting problems have just been solved with more power?

I seem to be getting a red wine belly and with winter coming I will probably put on a few more pounds so the power to weight ratio is decreasing

 you've got a fair way to go before the power to weight is anything less than 'rather exciting' though I'm sure!
