I am testing the waters here to see if my 1 out of 3 in country, Phoenix Yellow coupe with matching yellow and black interior may peak someone’s interest.
A beautiful example with absolutely no rust at all on or underneath the car. With exception of the rear axle frame which has surface rust as expected i guess with our climate.
The car has been in my family since 2014. I took it on in 2019 and it has not seen rain since then. It has some hardly noticeable laquer peel which has been sealed to stop it going any further. Paintwork is fab especially in sunlight. Under a fluorescent you do see the marks in the finish which with a professional cut and polish would look even more amazing outside.
Original wheels in dark grey. Suspension replaced at rear. All new calipers and lovely brembo discs drilled and vented and brembo pads fitted stops well and no squeaks.
Engine seems very solid with 108000 on it. There is a noise from release bearing I think as it goes quiet when clutch pressed in. It has done this for last 5 years and never caused me issues. Clutch engagement always good and gears all good. Vanos changed a while back. Regular service by local mech and then oil and filter by me recently.
Inside all is well apart from the usual drivers cup holder broken, sun glass holder does not stay closed and ashtray clips are not great. Drivers window needs something part replaced but never got round to it. The window will close up ok when door closed but clearly a mechanical issue in the door as you can’t use the elec window or the window will make lots of noise and not move correctly and needs to be pushed down slightly just enough to clear rubber so when closed it pops backup ok.Apart from that all else is great with a near 20 year old car.
I have loved this car and depending on interest I could quite happily throw money at it to bring it back to top notch, since it is a very unique z4 coupe in this colour and interior combo.
Options are its the sport variant with the Msport setup. Multifunctional steering wheel. Elec seats. Heated seats. No sat nav. Xenon lights. Rear sensors. Business CD. Sound system sounds good with subs in rear behind seats. Random headlight washers which still work. Proper factory tinted side and rear windows not aftermarket.
The reason for me looking to sell is I am looking for its bigger brother the M version as I just want a bit more power.
Not much else to say other than this car is very reliable and pulls very well. It can sit for months and turns first key and starts.
Oh and its always been run on super unleaded since 2015.
