Z4 e85 parts wanted

hi there,

I have a Z4 e85 3.0i from 2003 (https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=134353&e=1&view=unread#unread)

Recently I've updated the standart seats to the Sport seats.
The Mseats where not heated, and I've purchase the heat pads for that seats.

Unfortunately, the heating doesn't work.

After a lot o f research I found that is missing a part, which is the problem.

I've already identified the missing part in my seats:

the part has the Ref.: 5210-791950, and the BMW Part number: 52 10 7 919 250

You can see the pictures in my topic of new member.

unfortunately local dealer informed that this part number is no longer available...

In eBay or in the internet I can't find this part number!

Does anyone can help?

If someone can put here in detail this part, maybe we could fabricate a new one DIY?

thank you very much!

So your standards seats before were heated and worked?

Which heats pads did you order for the seats as they come in 2 parts. You have side bolster heat pads and then also the central heat pad.

Either you didn't install the centre heat pads which have the thermostat probe in them or they are faulty and bmw should replace them
Each seat should have a single grey wire going to the large yellow block connector which then connects to your car.

Bigwinn should be able to help you with an after market thermostat probe if you don't want to install the centre heat pads.

The standard seats were heated and they work fine

The new Msport seats where not heated. So I purchased the BMW part that is on the squemes... But the new heated parts that come was only for the side bolster.... So is missing one or two heated central pads for each seat?

If possible I would like to purchase the centre heat pads. Can you tell where I can find it?

Ok seems you can no longer buy them but they would be a bend over moment whilst you pay.

You can buy them for a standard seat still and for one seat they will cost

52 10 7053843 Heating element, seat1From £341.53

52 10 7053844 Heating element backrest1From £486.92

But these will not fit sports seats.

Are you in the UK?

I still have the standard seats with the original heat pads

Cam I mount that ones in the place of the center missing pads in the new MSport seats?

(I'm in Portugal)

That is possible yes. I have done it but know of no one else who has. It is too big and has to be cut down and then it is still a squeeze as you can only cut so much. Do you know of anyone with a sewing machine?

Your easiest option is to add a thermostat and wire it in. I will find a thread on the forums later where someone else has done it.

The next easiest is to add 3rd party heat pads. Again I will find a thread later.

By far the hardest but maybe the best(?) is as above, use your old seat heat pads. Your old seats will be completely destroyed.

fantastic, appreciate your help!

Sorry I can't be any more help but I haven't played with anything after market with the seats. I have only modified some oem parts.

I will say that if you keep your heat pads as they are now then the thermostat probe will need to be positioned on the heat pad. Normally it goes between your thighs on the seat base.

Hi there, again!

I already have the heating "universal" elements to mount in the center of the Msport seats.

This new heat pads have only 2 wire (red(+) and black(-) wire:

1- in the center backrest, it's not difficult, because We have only the Green (+) and the Brown (-) wire from the car.

2- in the center seat cushion (lower part of the seat) there is 3 wires, has you showed above: green (+), Brown (-) and the gray (for the temp sensor). Now I have only 2 wires from the new heat pad. Can I buy the tem sensor? Can you give me a link or other reference to buy it?

Then i should connect the temp sensor: to the gray wire (sensor signal) and to the brown (-) wire? Is that correct?

Thank you very much for your help!
