I've had a look at my car, the bit of metal that keeps the micro switch pushed in has come out, i've still got it and it has not broken.

I will require this repairing. It's 100% the metal, as i pushed the microswitch with my nail and the roof works. It's because the bit of metal that keeps the switch pushed in has popped out.

Can anyone repair this for me please? How Much? Where? When?

Let me know asap please :) Sorry if this has been sorted of talked about previously, I don't have the time currently to search the whole site for this - Sorry!

Thanks in advance guys!!

Nico

The same thing happened to mine when I reinstalled the rear shelf after fitting the roof, Just install it again, it might be easier to remove the switch so you have it on a table to see what you're doing it just slots back in :)

Have you got pics etc on how to do this? Or some sort of walk through? Or a contact of someone who can repair my switch.

If this switch is the one in the boot on the panel behind the seats, a new one 3 years back was £18.50 and took 10 minutes to change over.

Just unscrew the black plastic part, the rest is obvious.

His do you get in there at the switch though? I've seen it from behind the seats. But getting to it from inside the car where the seats are seems impossible!

Turn the two knobs in the boot to move the tray up, then you can see the switch... from the boot, remove the 2 screws , remove the wires and voila !

If you're joking, i'll cry, if you're serious, i'll kiss you.

I'm sure that the switch (behind the seats) is too high to be reached from the parcel shelf in the boot though?

I'm not joking ! Just hope we are talking about the same micro switch ! Are you getting a yellow light on the switch when you try to open the roof ?

Yeah, i'm talking about the one that senses whether the parcel shelf is up of down? The metal bendy clip that pushes the micro switch in has come out.

Ok good that's the one I thought you were talking about !

Does this pin have to be flush against the switch to enable it? It came off like this one, put it back together, parcel down and still yellow light.

I'll have a look sometime again this week. But, Can the roof operate when the boot is open? Does the switch need to be enabled for the roof to work?

Hi,
Not sure about being flush, but I'm sure it should be activated to operate the roof, when the shelf is down it activates the switch.

The boot being open will not stop it from working

Happy new Year ;-)
Tried to operate the softtop manually just to know how to... IF,,,,,
After this it's not possible to open the softtop automatically, orange warning lamp blinking. Closeing is no problem!!
I found a small "bit of metal" in the trunc.
I can't find out where this "bit of metal" came from!!
Could it be the micro switch??
where do I find the micro switch??
Regards
Gason
