Z4 E85 - Coilover

I'm getting the KWs at a significantly cheaper price. An acquaintance of mine bought them new a few years ago for his ex Z4 3.0i, then he bought a Z4M and sold the 3.0i and never installed the KWs. He was selling them all this time but there was no interest in our small country so he lowered the price just to get rid of them now that I suspect my shocks to be the reason for the front tyres rubbing I became interested in something better

No need to take my word for it. enuff_zed of this parish has driven many an E85, and seemed very surprised at how compliant my coilovers were.

I agree, I was expecting a hard ride (as the actress said to the bishop :roll: ) and was very surprised how well it rode, albeit on its softest setting. I was unable to spot any real difference in ride quality to my 2.2i daily, which has new Sachs all round, on about 4k now, with the original springs which have just passed 60k.
As I was delivering the car back to Dave with un-bedded racy-type brake pads I didn't really have an opportunity to test the handling further.

Does anybody have any experience with KW V1 coilovers on a non-M Z4? Opinions?

Can anyone tell how is the ride different with KW V1 vs OEM M sport suspension?

I have the KW V1s on my E85 Z4 3.0i, had them on about 11 years now! I also daily drive it as well.

The ride is a bit stiff on bumps or random dips (like a sports car) but they're very smooth and compliant on nicer roads with not too many dips and bumps. Some cheap coilovers are still bouncy on smoother roads. The handling though, is incredible. Also, they're stainless steel so there's no rusting on mine at ALL and I've dailyed this car in the summer and the winter when it snows. No weird noises, no issues with fitment, nothing.

It hurt the wallet to buy them in 2013 but they were SO worth it.

Right now my Z4 on M sport suspension is quite softer than e90 330xd on standard suspension. Every bump or pothole shakes the e90 hard. But the e90 feels more confident in corners than the Z4 does, as heavy as it is. So if my Z4 with V1s stays a bit softer than the e90 (which shakes on every pothole, no matter the speed. I expect V1s to shake less when the speed increases), I'll be happy with it.
