Z4 E85/86 - E89 Comparison

I was searching the web for Z4 info and came across this review (just in case you have not seen it before link below)

Very interesting read - I prefer the E86, so beautiful with the agressive lines....(plus i have just bought one just over a week ago!!)

Never driven an E89 but what he describes is exactly what you'd expect - it's a natural part of growing up. Mk1 to Mk2 to Mk3 Golf etc. etc.

Or 993 vs 996

It actually sounds like he hasn't driven them and just pottered around the net for info for his article..

Typical journo, pontificating on an area of expertise that he knows nothing about

Continual erroneous references to the E85 were irritating, if you want to compare 'top down' motoring then compare with an actual E85.

After reading and looking at the pictures I'm kinda wondering why you compare the E86 with the E89. I know both have tin tops but we all know that convertibles usually drive differently to fixed roof cars.

Why also test drive it with the roof off as the pictures suggest? Again not a true comparison. As is the 'forget the s54 of the M' top of the range was the 3.0l which was the only non M engine the did in the E86 and then compares it to the 35i after saying there is no M Z division but there is a more expensive car with more power available. :scratchhead:

Also by the sounds of it most of this review seems to come from a road test where the author drove the E86 whilst someone else drove the E89 or they didn't do a like for like test but that's the way it is sometimes. Wonder if the 35i they had, had the adaptive suspension by the sound of the review I would think it did but he would have had to have it in Sport to get a stiffer set up which it doesn't sound like he did.
