Z4 E85 3.0si Auto - A08 SILBERGRAU - £5000

Who would like to continue my project? Well at this age I think they all become a project!
Wife has a company car coming, so we will have too many on the drive, so need to cut short my current Zed ownership.
57 Plate rare 3.0si AUTO ! So not everyone’s choice, but I have to say the 6 speed box in the Si is very smooth and a nice box, made better by the fact I had the oil change service done with a ZF kit.

Red interior (I always buy red) Satnav, with an updated disk, cruise control, Electric memory seats.
The all-important roof motor has been relocated.
Amazingly I’m only the 3rd owner, plus has full service history. MOT October, I had the last one done after I prepared it and had no advisories.
Of course it’s not perfect, it’s 17 years old and done 130K miles, but if someone keeps looking after it, doing the jobs as they pop up, it should keep rolling on.
As you see I made a pretty good start on those “little jobs”

Work done:-
Auto gearbox ZF service kit and oil change done. (Local BMW specialist)
Full service including:- air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs, brake fluid. Oil, filter.
New Vanos solenoids
Cam cover gasket.
Alternator
Water pump
Serpentine belt and pulley replaced.
Front brake callipers.
Front suspension bushes/lower arms/drop links etc
Track control arms
Anti roll bar bushes.
Screen washer pump replaced filter cleaned – still low pressure
Genuine BMW front grill badge.
Both oil filter housing gaskets now replaced.....

Front discs and pads nearly new.
Tyres as nearly new. (Two wheel and tyre options)
Sat nav disc updated.

Roof motor has been relocated.
Lanoguard treatment applied.

Jobs to do that I know about:-
Check pipes or jets of screen washers
Front fog lights corroded.

Wheels I have set of 108 needing a refurb, no tyres fitted at present.
I have the MV2’s which have been refurbed, currently with Continental All Season Tyres.
I also have an as new set of Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3 summer tyres.

Price includes ones set of wheels and tyres, the second set by agreement at extra cost. I’m happy to keep the MV2 and All seasons, but open to agree a combination that suits.

Priced to sell considering the new bits, but I need it gone by early May, so one week here, next on AT at 5.5K
Oh and if I sell her 1 Series as well I might be able to have a G29/M40i !!

This looks a very nice example, and having owned one of the OP’s previous E85’s (although not having purchased it directly from the OP) which was in fabulous condition, I get the feeling this will be an excellent car too

Also, for the ‘it has to be a manual’ crowd, the 3.0Si with the autobox is an excellent drive… go try one

Hi, no not yet, haven't listed on AT yet as I decided to fix the oil seals on the filter housing first, which I've now done.

Probably last call...... as wife car is also up for sale and only need to sell one... so looks like I’ll keep and use the Zed.

I think the market is the problem. It is very slow everywhere unless a very desirable car at very good money.

Sorry, it’s a nice car but it’s got 130k on the clock, buyers are looking for low milage cars that are a good sale prospect in a couple of years.

It’s a lovely looking car. But it hasn’t sold because of the price. The market isn’t what it was 12/24 months ago.
Cars are selling at the correct market price.

People can look for the holy grail, 1 owner, 30k miles etc etc, but we are talking cars that approach or over 20 years old, so is a pointless wait, then it wouldn’t be 5k either. Then you can’t drive it because the miles will devalue it. I already have two garage queens like this I bought new.

Can’t help thinking if I took all the new bits off and said 4K it would sell, then sell all the new parts as spares, Then the new owner could buy them all again themselves and pay 2-3k more for the pleasure..... madness.

Perhaps I’ll just drive it to the moon....

Honestly to get better performance you have to spend a lot, if it’s running well drive it to the moon you are never going to get better value.
