Z4 Dealers

Hi All, newbie from the UK here!

I'm reluctantly looking to sell my Z4 however seem to be receiving some borderline offensive offers from the usual, UK based, mainstream car valuation companies (CarWow, We Buy, Motorway etc).

Any advice on a good dealership avenue to explore for a cash sale of a 2013, 2.0L, manual Z4 with 45K miles on the clock?

Thanks

Selling it privately would be the best way to go. New members sign up here just to sell their cars.

If you are finding all the offers too low, it's maybe your expectations are too high. They all can't be too far out.

Try https://hpivaluations.com/ for a valuation.

The car market is slow and demand for convertibles is going to drop off at this time of the year. People are struggling to sell Z4s.

Thanks for the prompt reply Beerman, HPI tool very helpful.

Agree I've picked the completely wrong time of year to sell but hey ho! The mainstream companies are stating around the 7K mark but the HPI guidance is 9K so i'm going to sell privately at some point.

Suppose everyone needs to make their margins!!

Yes I can imagine dealers are not wanting a convertible sat on the forecourt for 6 months right now.
Selling privately seems to have gone out of fashion but if done properly with the right level of care by the seller and the right price they will sell. There will always be a buyer out there somewhere, you just need to make it possible for them to find you and be attracted to the car.
I sold my Z4 a couple of weeks ago, took 6 days to sell it privately.

They will sell if the car is presented well, good history and priced right.
Sold mine in January this year.
But as has been said, its a harder time to sell coming into winter, but it can be done.
Its all about how well your car stands out, so crap pictures on your driveway wont cut it.

That is all there is to it. Selling cars isn't rocket science.

I would say somewhere in the region of £9k is a reasonable price for an 11 year old E89 20i with 45k miles depending on many factors; condition, spec, colour combo, history. Basically...desirability.

I have sold a few cars recently and the longest took 2 weeks to sell; the shortest was 20 minutes (and there was a queue after an hour with several trying to throw deposits at me). All down to spending time on the cars and the adverts (and them being good cars of course at realistic prices).

Autotrader and the forums are the only places I will advertise. For some strange reason the quality of buyers is far higher from AT than any of the other platforms IME. Forums also have good buyers, as long as they are there.

I've been on Pistonheads for over ten years so I get to advertise for free ... I actually sold both my Z4s on PH, the buyers on there generally are looking for performance cars of some sort, and not usually exotic ones, more the affordable performance car.

I also keep logs of the car ownership on forums and PH for potential buyers to reference, it really does make a difference and buyers always call that out. For my old Celica I actually made a website ... actually its still alive haha I just googled it! https://celicast205.mystrikingly.com/
