Has anyone recently bought a new one? Did you use eBay or a motor factors chain? Is it thermostat to change at same time? And cost ... it’s 4 years since I last bought one and I used eBay but first port of call is here as it’s well known and well people on here just know stuff

I used Ebay from germany ebay item number 273979766183 . This is for the pump and thermostat which seems to be the way to go . I also looked at this one on ebay item number 264482662856 . You just need to work out how much you will be charged for import . Ps . Love the RVF 400

Your water pump is 4 yrs old and your replacing it?
From the e46M3 forum the consensus was if it is a BMW water pump with plastic impeller then it was good from 80,000-150,000
The aftermarket pumps with cast iron impeller generally die between 10,000-30,000 mi.

Ok to clarify I last bought a waterpump for a previous coupe 4 years ago ....hence I am asking about the present as I might be buying a coupe with no record of it been changed in its lifetime so preventative maintenance was in my mind
Apologies for the confusion

I will be going Germany soon I could just stick one in my bag

If you are staying for a while maybe get it delivered to where you are staying .

Probably not, I’ll be staying in Slovenia then possibly working in Germany or transiting through, I was recently working near stuggart and Czech border but I did not have water pumps in my thoughts then....I do have a Slovenian address though

These are my favourite Slovenians https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_Hn63OFwVU :D

Mine came from the Czech Republic although the listing said Germany, maybe message them and see if you can work something out.
