Z4 coupe Pheonix yellow

This is the red one - your thoughts please. PY sport or red SE......? the black wheels feel sort of plastic coated and I'm wondering if they could be changed to silver...I'm sure it should be ok.

My choice would be the red one and change the wheels to silver ones.

Removing the roof would be a bonus! :D

Good luck!

Any pics of the PY car? I would go for the PY car for rarity value. Also, red just isn't as special for such a car.

Now that's a car that would look good with darker wheels 8)
I stand by my suggestion - PY (unless there is a clear differentiator that stands the red coupe above the PY).

Those wheels are CSL style reps, probably powder coated. As above though I'd go for PY and get dome silver CSL's if you like them.

I would take the black wheels from the red car & fit to the PY , then its winwin :P
Both look ace but for future value & total rarity on the roads it would be the PY for me

:headbang: I'm totally confused now ! I see the attraction of the PY and uniqueness of it. If I could just see the red one in silver wheels and 'cleaned up' properly - the car was 'waiting to be prepared'. The other issue is the red one's previous owner was a smoker so I said if I was buying it the seats had to be removed and the carpets to be completely shampoo'd and headlining to be washed and cleaned thoroughly. It will niggle me though if I still smell smoke.....odour bombs never really work in my opinion.

Still need help folks

Having owned a PY roadster, I can honestly say that you will get loads more attention than the red, the red shouts boy racer and the PY shouts enthusiast :D

Thanks Sars - I like the though process and can see the perspective you are coming from. I think a 250+ mile trip may be on the cards soon 8)

PY with anthracite wheels and black grills would look incredible - a little like this ///M posted recently:

Add a gloss black roof and perhaps black magnetic stone guards in front of the rear wheels and it would be even better.

The red one is also an SE which could make it harder to move on when most want a Sport.

What seats are in the SE?

Red one for me. PY would be even harder to move on as its a marmite colour. Some of the se models have sport seats.
When I sold my red e86 the phone rang off the hook, says it al really as red are very rare too

The red SE has black leather standard seats - no extending front bolster and no side hugging bolsters either. £260-300 changes the 19" csl type alloys to silver....

I guess for almost £2k less the red seems a no brainer - but I do like marmite. I'd have some spare cash to do some proper detailing and change the seats (although by all accounts they are like hens teeth) some further thinking to do.

Taz - on one of my last posts about the MoT advisories on the red one do you think that the wording "slightly corroded" is anything to worry about ? or a quick clean up may just do the trick (wire wool ?) just looking for an opinion and if anyone else has came across this "drop down menu" catch all statement MOT testers are obliged to use.

Any help/advice appreciated.

I've heard a few get an advisor on rusty brake pipes but I also believe its a quick wire wooling and its sorted, I think some do it before the mot just as a precaution
