Hi folks

I'm currently considering the above on autotrader (GDZ44 reg). Anything I should look out for ? I've got MOT number and been onto DVLA website and also checked previous MOT - coils spring broken last year and failed now replaced. The car is a 2006 but was first registered in th UK in 2010 so I've got limited info. before it was brought over from Ireland. I'm in Glasgow and the car is in Mansefield so I can't just pop in and have a look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Cheers - I'm gathering as much info on the car as I can (pics, service history, etc.) before I travel 200+ miles to see it. The colour is growing on me......not everyone's taste but it's different.

that was sold by a guy from wigan not so long ago, think he said it was 1 owner and he imported it from Ireland

he sold it for less than £9250 so screw the dealer down

Yip that's the one - all previous MOT's on line show the car was tested in the Wigan area. I already asked for a reduction but the stealer is playing hard to get (but I'm not that wet behind the ears) so I'll pursue him further ! I'm waiting to sell my Subaru WRX-S hatch to raise the funds to buy as he offered way less as a part exchange. I'm in no hurry as it will be a car I tuck up in the garage so if I miss this one I'll keep my eye open. A great forum with lots of v helpful resources - thanks again.

you'll wait a long time for another phoenix yellow with bi colour seats, there are only 10 in the UK

Do you part time for the dealer ? :D I guess it's rare but I'll not tell the dealer that and try get the price down. It's amazing you know all the info ! thanks again Taz

I though of buying the car and I rang the seller but I was too late, I have created a database on all uk coupes so I can find out anything :)

I guess there will be a fair bit of interest from enthusiasts so I best be quick ! cheers Taz

Its a marmite colour , don;t think it will fly away & its top money 8)
Unless you are going to sit on the car & keep the miles tight then i wouldn't hand over more than £11k

My fv Z colour though & i did pick up on the car being a potential bargain for someone when the private seller had it
best of luck with it

totally agree

Andy, was it you who posted the original add a few weeks back? I searched but could not find the post

Cheers - my new purchase is going to be a summer/weekend car only so the miles will stay low (my WRX-S only has 24k miles in 5 years) will miss the 4wd but I've always admired the z4 coupe and the time is right. I was toying with a Boxter but the male menoporsche is wearing off a bit (IMS issues !) I did have a TT 3.2 V6 DSG when the first came out and loved it - used launch control far too many times

Yep it was a Sunday morning checking the usual places on the web & it stood out to me as i liked the 2 tone trim with the PY paint & price was also tempting with the lowish miles ,
That said it will always take longer to sell imo as not everyone "understands" the quirk of the yellow

Bought my coupe from this dealer. They seem to be actively seeking coupes out, as they regularly have them in - so they clearly understand the rarity and niche appeal. Not the cheapest by any stretch, but the quality of the cars (of mostly up market marques) on the forecourt seemed good and I had no issues with my purchase - the trade in value they offered on my roadster was substantially better than WBAC offered. 3 months down the line with my car and I'd buy from them again. If this all sounds a bit sycophantic, it's not meant to - at the end of the day they are car dealers and as such they are in it to make a profit, but they seemed genuine enough and focusing on the performance/luxury end of the market, came across as car enthusiasts.

Thanks Z4pilot - that's helpful. I'm in a dilemma now as, only a few miles away, an 07 plate red coupe SE has come up for sale......48k full bmwsh, 2 previous owners. The only thing is, and it's down to taste, the car has 19" BMW msport alloys in black (not sure of the design but very like the twin spoke bbs alloys you can retrofit) I'll need to do some further research on the wheels and perhaps look at powder coating them siltver.....arghhh! The red one is younger slightly more miles. It was advertised on-line at £10,000 but the sticker inside said £9488 so the dealer said he would honour the mistake....a likely story me thinks but at £9488 it seems right. I've carried out an MOT history check and last one on 21/8/14 advisories were: offside rear moulded type to calliper brake pipe slightly corroded (3.6.b.2c) and nearside rear moulded type to caliber brake pipe slightly corroded (3.6.b.2c) and undertrays fitted obscuring some underside components and engine covers fitted obscuring some components in the engine bay. The last 2 I'm not concerned about but what about the others ??? anything to be overly concerned about ??

I guess the SE is same power output but no xenons or sport seats. The 19" alloys are all in great condition (just that the are black) red and black doesn't really do it for me so I'm wondering about changing them silver or letting the black ones grow on me....any, any hints tips would be greatly appreciated folks....help me :o
