Hi, following on from my last post. I'm taking the coupe off the road for the winter. The car will be on my drive so looking for a waterproof car cover to protect the car for a few months.

Anyone got a cover for sale or can recommend a brand?

Thanks

Wow I didn't expect them to be so expensive!

If anyone got one for sale or knows a 2nd hand one for sale please pm
Me.

Thanks

I had a carzone one, now have a bmw one.

More or less the same, however i think the bmw one is easier to put on with it having a zip up side/ back.
Carzone means i need to throw the nylon clip under it to fasten it.

Also the bmw one has a nice clear bit to see my numberplate to make sure it really is my car on my drive

I just bought this one for mine to protect it until I get the leak sorted:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271052802542

It fits very well (apart from the position of the wing mirror covers!) and is elasticated so it doesn't blow off. As it's 'breathable' it does absorb water so the car doesn't stay bone dry, but it does keep most of it off and if you try and trap water in it, you'll see it is waterproof. Can't complain for £10 :)

Is your cover not back to front? if you put it the other way around surely the mirror covers will fit?

It's not a 'bespoke' Z4 cover, it is just a generic one for small cars, so the wing mirrors are located where they would be on a Polo, Clio etc (eg quite near the front.) on the Z4 they are almost exactly in the middle, so they wouldn't fit whichever way it is on.

Edd_Jedi - What size did you go for?

I'm looking to buy a cover to keep the snow off - although mines a soft top. Not sure if I really want one that absorbs the water!

Just the small one mate. Yes if you want one that's completely waterproof AND breathable (recommended for a soft top) you need a multi-layer one as above, but they are expensive.

Be careful with those guys heard a few horror stories about them swirling the paintwork when left on in windy conditions- they tend to sand the car with any trapped grit.

^^^^^ As above, if the cars not clean it wont help the paint work

I have one for when car is the garage, its not been on yet as I feel it will do more harm than good.
