My thanks to everyone for their replies to my original question. Having taken everything into consideration my decision is to purchase a low mileage, excellent condition BMW E86 Z4M Coupe with my desired options etc. (wanted ---- already posted) and as and when I successfully find the "right" car whilst being an investment it will not reside in the garage but instead will be ENJOYED, TREATED WITH T.L.C. and MAINTAINED regardless ( just like my "better half

Also didn't buy mine for investment oppo - waste of time unless you have the cotton wool, time, etc
Beautiful machine to own and drive, though - unlikely to be disappointed...
Values? Better off looking at the valves IMO....

It's theoretically similar to kind of like choosing between a 997.2 3.6 carrera black Ed vs 3.8 gts, dispite difference in price, arguably both very capable probably equally fast when driven by general public, both desirable and holding respective money well and I wouldn't mind owning either but in terms of potential investment the higher spec car will be naturally be worth more i.e. The gts
