Just buy the one you like more.

I wouldn't care what it was called, what model preceeded it, or followed it. Anyone with a brain can see the Z4 was the follow on to the Z3, and then new Z4 is a follow on to the current Z4, so BMW's model naming strategy shouldn't worry you

Me, too. Mine is gonna be well used or BMW is going to have to come up with something much more appealing than this new iteration.

I'm going to keep mine for a year or two and then get one of the last Z4M Roadsters; the new car looks a little too 'comfy' for me right now - altough I'm sure it will be lovely overall.
