Z4 Coupe on ebay

Not a chance that was all the damage IMHO. I bought my coupe in Dec 2009 for ~20k so a Cat D write off of that car during 2009 means enough damage that it wasn't financially viable for the insurer to repair a 20k car and would rather pay out a similar figure as a write off to the owner. No way was that just a scratch. Must've been other damage.

Don't Forget hire car charges and personal injuries etc , all adds up

Personal injury woudl not be included in the assessment. It will only include things that can be mitigated by a prompt payment. So if someone falls on my bonnet and does £50 of damage and claims £20k personal injury the car wouldn't be written off.

On a separate matter I concur with others that the damage is more than it appears, unless say a coupe back win was on 3-6 month backorder thus needing a £200 per day hire car.

Am I reading this wrong? Looks to me like this car was Cat D in 2009 and has been repaired (so should have been through VOSA etc since then to put it back on the road). So in essence it should not need any work?

Yes it's been fixed up and should be in good condition now.
The question is over the level of work that was required to fix it up back then.

Clearly the D remains a suppressor to price.

As with all D's you need to know what you're buying and assess it properly.

Am going to make a guess I reckon it might go for £9851! :D 25% below book should be about right , I see how wrong I am in a few days

i will hazard a guess at 8k and cat d's dont require a vosa check, only cat c's and even then they only do an identity check and not an inspection of the repair

only an mot is required for road worthiness and when they are damaged, a new mot is required

Ah my bad..

theres a 93k mileage coupe on pistonheads at 8k, so its not impossible to find one for that much

I started a whole thread on that , was trying to arrange a viewing but gave up as he stopped responding :?

he must of sold it

i think the odd one or two may pop up in the new year when everyone is broke
