Z4 Coupe, Mini Project Thread...?

You shot out of a roundabout in front of my partner a few weeks ago - just near the hospital I believe. Again, she wasn't meant to be in the area and was just there for the day but it made her smile as she drove it to Le Mans one year with my sister and had a great time listening to show tunes all the way down. Count yourself lucky there isn't a Chorus Line CD in the glove compartment.

Ha, must've been the one right by Queensgate, I'd been on a Christmas card run (probably cheaper to buy stamps, but where's the fun in that, right?!) and coming out of the Waitrose exit you have to be a bit keen :lol: Hope she didn't think it was too close Glad it raised a smile though - Now I know where the dodgey CDs in the collection come from! Hope you have a good Christmas also

Not much to report on the car really, it's been mostly tucked up since the MOT now work is in Tier 3/4.

Very pointless update, but with the car now having been SORN'd for a month (to be honest, it's barely moved since December anyway!) I thought I'd at least push it around a bit just to move the tyres. I'd bought some new foglights after Christmas so will fit those when it's back on the road, I also need to change the lower control arms - should have done it when I put the polybushes on really, as the ball joints have about given up, bought about thanks to the harder bushes no doubt.

It probably won't get back on the road until August, as I have made another stupid decision! That said, I'm planning to take the Z4 around the NC500 in October, so hopefully it doesn't protest being parked too much :lol:

Thanks! Managed to get both of them in one spot once over the summer! The Honda then spent a month being undersealed and having everything that Honda missed off the service schedule done.



Well I had quite a good summer with the Z4, I certainly did more miles in it than the S2000! We're off to do the NC500 soon so decided to do an oil and filter on Wednesday night, at around 3000 miles since it wast done, and also had the wheels balanced as there was a really slight vibration at speed. Got some new control arms to fit when we get back.

Inspired choice on the wheels and colour love it. Got the same condensation issues with my front fogs. I'm tempted to get them blanked as I can't see me using them much. How do you find the ride on the coilovers? Can you slacken them off to soften the ride?

Thanks! I'm really pleased with them, they've got a good look to them and play with the light nicely thanks to the little detail in the spokes. Ha, I can't take all the credit for the work, thankfully i have a very good freind who's overly generous with his time, knoweldge and tools. The Domino's tab is fairly crippling, mind :lol:

Thank you! I'll be honest, I never solved the foglight issue. Even drilling holes in them offered limited success, although now it's not used daily they do actually dry out when it's in the garage which is good. I've subsequently bought a Z4M front bumper, which, if I keep the car I will fit next year. Kinda thinking I might just cut out the middle man and buy a Z4M next year though...

As for the coilovers, these aren't the best items (AP) and the ride is now quite firm indeed, especially since polybushing. I have raised it a bit in my ownership but the biggest change to ride quality came from going back to 18" wheels and the extra sidewall you get with that. It's not unbearbale (although ask me in a fortnight) at all as it sits now.

Spied a Z4M advertised locally, which had me tempted to test drive it at least, however... Due to a change in circumstances it will have to go in the not too distant. It's been a great car to me (although I've lavished a fair bit of attention on it!) but I can only keep one and the S2000 means a bit more to me.

Although, wahay! It passed its MOT on Friday with no advisaries, although we fitted some new control arms to get it through.

Got some great memories of the car, especially a great trip around the NC500. I had a fantastic run from Kinlockbervie to the Wailing Widow on a glorious sunny morning. My friend who was waiting for me there said he could hear me coming for some time

I must admit I'll be sad to see it go, I've put a lot of time and effort into the car and really enjoyed my time with it.

I've had a few good trips in it and made some great memories. It's been a good car
