z4 coupe lowering on stock struts

Hi all,
I know this is an old subject, but I would like to clarify about using lowering springs (eibach pro springs) on stock struts non m suspension. I am hearing that is will knacker my shocks in a couple of thousand miles, is this correct?

How many miles is your car on? The shocks could already be on their way out so might make sense to replace anyway?

Ok, that is low mileage indeed. I'm not sure in all honesty. Obviously the se suspension has more movements but I don't know how it would react with shorter, stiffer springs.

It won't wear them out that quickly. Just because you have low miles doesn't necessarily mean the shocks will still be in the best condition, they may have had a hard life.

If you plan on keeping and have the money then it's certainly worth going down the B12 route, buy once - cry once, especially if you're not doing the work yourself. BC coilovers are also worth a look.
If you don't want to do that then putting the springs on OE shocks will be fine.

It's will be fine. Lowered my last Z and two years later it was still going strong. Have lowered the M and that's fine also.

Got mine lowered on standard shocks and all is good. Think I've only ever once changed the shocks while fitting lowering springs. Never once had any problems.
