Morning all!
Quick question Re my brakes.
Just bought a lovely Z4 Coupe E86 and whisky driving to work this morning I noticed that whilst braking especially at higher speeds there seems to be a vibration through the brake pedal??? Is this ABS ?? Is it normal??
Appreciate your help
Cheers
Mark

check the wheel temps after a drive, might find one is a lot hotter than the other three, which could indicate a sticky caliper.

i presume the discs and pads are in good shape, the swept surface of the discs all looks ok?

Warped discs (binding calipers not uncommon / check for one being hotter to touch than others after a journey where brakes used )
Worn bushes / front control arms

Also as its a new to you car worth checking tyre pressures & the wheels for balance

& welcome to the forum :)

Most of the time, suspected warped discs is just an uneven build up of pad deposits. Wire brush on a drill or a good rub down with wet and dry usually sorts it (you need to go through re-bedding procedure afterwards of course).

Update!
So, after checking tyre pressures(that we’re all over the place) amongst other simple checks there was no difference so had to drop it to the garage.
Warped discs it is plus the added bonus of a ball joint on the lower arm with excessive movement!
Should be sorted for Friday 👍🏻
Is there a reason for discs warping?? Just so I know
Cheers

Happened to me this year as well. New discs & pads as well as new lower, rear bushes sorted it out a treat.
Not too expensive if you get the parts yourself.

Hi guys .
Having had the same problem as Marko for a few months I had a pal go over the front suspension all was good , I had ecp replace my brembo discs under warrenty after 8 months .
They also said it could be build up of pad deposits .
This has got me thinking about how I drive my car , as it's an auto I tend to hold it on the brakes at traffic lights etc . Would this be helped with better pads to prevent it happening again ?
Cheers Greg.
