Z4 coupe buyer questions

Hi all at Z4 forum.

I am looking to purchase a Z4 coupe Sport and am trying to nail down a spec to help with my search. I am doing a lot of research but still have some pretty basic bullet point questions and would very much appreciate any short responses for;

Did USA and UK have different trim options? I think I have a link to a USA brochure which is not matching up with what I am seeing available in UK cars http://www.bmwz4roadster.net/brochure/2007_E85-E86.pdf

Can anyone advise a link for PDF UK Z4 brochure?

Can you fit non-run flat tyres for a better ride?

Is there a spare wheel with the car?

Will an iPhone 5 work with the Bluetooth preparation option?

Is the sat nav updated during services or by other means?

Many thanks

Ronnie

Hi and welcome. In the UK there are Two trim levels available, Sport and SE, both with the 3.0si engine or of course the ///M.

Non run flats can be fitted to the OEM wheels. There is no spare due to having run flats from factory. iPhone should be ok and maps and firmware are user updatable. ///M has non run flats from factory with a mobility kit instead of spare.

There is a link to the brochure on here I think uner the FAQ section.

Thanks Srhutch for your great response.

I have been spending a lot of time reading through this great resource rather than lots of already answered questions, and am now at a position where I am feeling confident to make a purchase.

I have a few questions I would appreciate help with:

- With bluetooth prep option - is it possible to wirelessly play music from an iphone from a such such as spotify? Or is the connection purely for phone conversations?

- Is there a particular place where the locking wheel nut is stored?

- I have seen the attached car pictured below. It appears to have an extra bracing strut. Is this a factory option, or a desirable custom addition? How do you top up the oil!?

- Extended nappa leather. Is this just harder wearing/better quality than the standard leather? In shots I have seen it appears less rippled on door panels.

Many Thanks!

No response -

So to answer myself.

I visited this car today and the locking nut was stored with warning triangle in boot under boot mat.

Nappa leather appears to be harder, better wearing.

The bracing strut is an official bmw accessory for e85, will fit e86 but not recommended by BMW as covers oil cap. Which is kinda dumb.

Not sure about Bluetooth and streaming music, in particular spotify.

Trim is individual new England bi-leather with piano black dash. Not sure how the New England leather compares quality wise to the standard leather?

Did a spec search via VIN number.. Does having 431 and 313 mirror options equate to option 430?

Should mirrors angle down during reversing?

Any idea of CD player changer cost?

Thanks

Ronnie

Hi Ronnie

No you cant stream music via BT on the E85/E86. Its just for phone conversations.

I'd have thought the cost of a CD Changer would be about £300 - £400 but fitting is a PITA as all the centre console has to be dismantled. You would be better off getting an Intravee and connecting your iPod / iPhone.

Sat Nav update (Maps) you will have to buy a new DVD for £160, firmware update you can do yourself.

I had folding mirrors on my Coupe but they didn't angle down when reversing. Did on my 1 Series though.

hi and welcome

mirrors do not angle during reversing. some mirrors are alectric and fold up

Thanks Taz and DPG for the response.

Will look into the Intravee. Being able to play Spotify is really important to me- as this is where all my music is!

Have looked at the specs thank you, but still can't fathom out if having mirror options 430 and 313 equates to 430.

Thanks

Ronnie

Not quite sure on the mirror options

S313A Fold-in outside mirror & S431A Interior mirror with automatic-dip.

What is option 430?
