I bought a coupe as I wanted to look as if I was having a minor midlife wobble.
If I wanted to look like I was having a full breakdown/crisis, I'd go for the roadster..
:poke:

I bought an original 1986 E30 M3 for my midlife crisis :D Had a few more BMW's but now got an 04 roadster.

If I'd wanted a hardtop, I'd have keep the M3

Who cares what age you were when you bought it - it still makes you feel like you're 17 again and in your first car!

Driving a Z4C must be one of the best kept motoring secrets out there! :driving:

Bought mine when I was 49,always promised myself a sports car before I was 50. If I could have afforded one when I was younger would definitely have had one sooner, great car.

I agree - anyone else always drive it in "Sport" mode? :driving:

First car at 17?!! I didn't pass my test till I was 31, took me 8 years to get my Z4 coupe so that means I would have been 25 if I had learned to drive at 17. Does that count or am I still an old git clinging on to the last vestiges of youth? :)

I've just bought one at 31 because I finally earn enough money to have a half-decent car without bankrupting myself in the process (and maintain it, something many people seem to forget about!)

Plus assuming I'll probably have kids in the next couple of years it will be a good 20 years until I can have a 2 seater car again!

Was 36 at the beginning of August.. last two cars were an e46 m3 convertible, and a 987 Porsche Boxster. Didn't even think about getting a soft top zed as they seem to be ten to the dozen (at least where i live anyway) and preferred a bit more exclusivity. The Coupe definitely gets the attention that is deserves! :D

Been trawling the internet recently for my next weapon... Really want to get into a 996 911 C4S next!

+1. Porsche are something special. 911 would be amazing. Cayman S is a great step up imo too. 996's are beginning to be very affordable but relatively costly to run in comparison to the 997 and 991s ; those new engines have become insanely efficient in the past two iterations of the 911.

i never pencilled myself as sports car guy. more of a fast diesel family car guy. however i gotta ad,it if life. allows ill be super happy getting the newer cayman or a 911. but i wanna keep the z4c if i could too as its such a beautiful and rare car vs porsches which are dime a dozen where i live/park.
