Z4 Coupe Boot Stop Buffer/Stopper

Hi guys,

I found that my Z4 Coupe 'Boot Stop Buffer' Part number: 51247161069, was leaking water due to the thread being crossed/not sealing.

Has anyone replaced this part before?

It compress of 3 parts,
1. Threaded part.
2. Securing nut. (these secure the part through the metal body work)
3. Centre threaded part with rubber stopper. This can be unscrewed from outside of the boot to reveal a hole where it has been.

What I don't under stand is why the 3rd part can be unscrewed? Is this to adjust the stopping distance from the tail gate?

A photo may help people visualise? Was it causing water to leak into the boot?

Is this the bumper pad underneath the boot, you can get to it when you lift the boot??

Appears to be the part attached to the tailgate section. According to Realoem and using that part number.

Yes this is the same part as per this link: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpa ... 1247161069

Once you open the boot, they are located either side of the boot seal.
