This is not my car for sale, I was after people's opinions.

Does this look dodgy to anyone? Why oh why would a car have 2 owners in 1000 miles and 2 years? Pre-reg by dealership maybe but still doesn't quite cover it. Cat-D? Seems quite an interesting prospect but something just rings out dodgy to me.

Does anybody know what that thing on top of the steering column is in the 3rd photo? Is that a mic for the bluetooth?

Not completely unusual to have such low miles on these cars. Actually as an example mine was just under a year old and only had 230 miles on the clock when i bought it, ok it was from a dealer. I too am the 2nd owner, BMW being the first.
So it could have been a pre reg, with this owner only using it for weekend outings perhaps?

It's easily possible IMO. The previous owner of my Z managed to do only 3000 miles in 3.5 years. I wouldn't doubt the story until I had actually been to inspect the car and met the owner.

My Dad recently sold his 1953 Riley RM which had done 28000 from new (less than 500 a year). He bought it in 1960 with about 9000 on the clock!

the only way to tell is to go look at it. the car should be as new with that mileage, no wear on the seats, steering wheel etc. Engine should be spotless. Car should be pretty much free from stone chips and any blemish etc.

Also you could contact the last owner and see what mileage it had at the time of the last sale. And is the seller a car nerd with 1,000 cleaning products or a dell boy with serveral cars on his drive and few spare dash parts in his garage!?
