Z4 Clear Windblocker Windscreen

Also bought the clear unit from Roadster Solutions, ditto on the easy installation, under 10 minutes. Really not sure how much wind it blocks, but I like the way it looks!

If you get the clear one from roadster solutions there is no dismantling of the roll hoops. Everything is attached with speed tape.

:| dosen't sound to healthy, can those speed tape reliable, if i doing high speed on the highway will it blew off?
am looking for one, prepare myself for the summer

The fastest i've been with the top down and wind deflector in was around 100 mph for maybe oh 2-3 minutes. I briefly put my hand on it and it felt solid. I've driven at 85mph with the top down and wind deflector in for long distances before too. Just be sure to clean the mounting surfaces well and don't move the parts with the adhesive around while your waiting for them to stick well (cure). If memory serves they want you to hold it firmly in place for a minute or two to allow a good seal with the tape stuff (it may not actually be tape, but it's sticky as hell). Plus the center window is slightly wider than the roll hoops which causes a curve in the window, which maintains pressure against the side pieces to help hold the glass and the rubber pieces in. According to the paperwork that curve also reduces the glare on the window in various lighting situations.

I'll have to double check my paperwork but I do think there is a cure time of a few hours (maybe a day) where they don't want you driving at high speeds with the top down. Or I might of just done that as I'm used to adhesive items (aircraft RTV etc) requiring a few hour cure time to seal properly.

Am I alone in actually preferring to have the mesh one fitted all the time?!

I find the mesh actually diffuses the lights of following cars, making them less distracting. I suppose one of the downsides about sitting low down is being dazzled more easilym and I find the mech deflector helps with that. I can honestly say it doesn't bother me having it in all the time - can't be bothered taking it off and on anyway as I drop the roof every chance I get

one more question,

can they be remove?
Center section is removable as well as the roll hoop inserts when you want to feel the wind.

What he said. The center section is easily removable (less than 10 seconds).
I dunno about the roll hoop insterts as I haven't bothered to try to remove them. I doubt they'd be that difficult.

That's the only place i've seen it. Hmm from the installation sheet....
Surface temperatures must be at least 70 degrees F
Apply pressure to brackets for 10-15 seconds.
There actually isn't a cure time beyond 10-15 sec that I can see on the sheet, so I guess it was just me being paranoid at first.
