Z4 buying advice

Hi all,

New to forum, looking to join the z4 club,
I'm interested in getting a 2.5 z4, plan to use the car at weekends doing 1500 miles a year, so was wondering if anyone can help me with a few questions I have,.

Which would be a better option for reliability and keeping the costs down m54 or n52 engine?
Is the face-lift better or not?

What wheel set up would be recommended for a more comfortable ride? roads around me aren't great but I guess that applies to everyone, are 16 inch rims to small?

And finally what would be considered to high mileage for my 4k budget and just in general? I have seen an 07 plate with 111,000 miles on the clock that looks good and has had a recent clutch and roof motor fitted going just shy of 4k but it seems to me that there won't be much resale value with mileage that high.

Sorry for the long post and thanks for any help provided,

Regards,

Joe

Welcome to the forum. :)

17" or 18" rims with none run flat tyres give a perfectly comfortable ride for my taste.
111,00 miles with a good service history is merely a well run in engine on a well cared for Z4. These cars wear the miles well. The shocks will be tired, if not replaced though. Your right about resale the UK public have a thing about high mileage. But if you are keeping the car then you will likely always get your money back if you look after it.
