Wanting to get another z4. Not many automatics seem to be out there?

Main requirement is it must have isofix on the passenger seat. So when I’ve been looking that seems to be facelift sport/Si models but I know some other models might have it as an option.

Ideally looking for a 2.5si or 3.0si but would consider a 2.5 or 3.0 SE if it had isofix. Has to be automatic (not Smg).

Thanks
James

I’ve heard this but I’d rather just get one without any motivations required built in from factory. Although I might take a look at how hard it is to get retrofitted if there’s a post on forum

I seem to remember that sometime in 2007 ISOFIX and the ability to disable the passenger airbag became standard, which is why it's fairly common on facelifts.

I'm sure at least one person on here has retro-fitted both, although I think the ISOFIX was the easier job.

Have you already ruled out an E89?

I’ve looked at this:
Fitting the ISOfix is harder than you expect, but doable.
Modifying the disable switch to fit your car key is quite easy.
Fitting the airbag disable switch and airbag disable indicator requires some drilling through your console and dashboard, but again is not hard (hardest part is removing the centre console).
I never managed to find a guide for wiring up the disable switch, but I guess you could work it out fairly easily from the newTIS diagrams. An early car may even have it pre-wired.

I have all the parts to retrofit in mine just haven't got round to it yet.

You don't have to drill it OE you can put it in the glove compartment, although I want mine to be OE look so will be drilling. Also depends on the trim you have, I have the carbon leather so won't be as hard as others but if I get it wrong its more £££.

That being said it took me nearly a year to source the isofix mount for the seat. Loads of cars are bing broken these days so becoming more common. The wiring can still be bought from BMW.

And I’m trying to find one from factory. The car seat would be rear facing for awhile so need to disable air bag and if I find her something that straight away needs modding and drilling holes, rewiring for air bags etc I think she’ll give me a stern look. It’s just easier for all and safer in my book to find one from factory as I don’t really trust myself messing with airbag stuff with a child involved
