Z4 and the Icelandic summer

Hey!

So, yesterday I took a short trip outside the capital and figured I might snap a few shots of the Z4. The photos weren't too great, but I'd like to showcase the car anyways and publish pictures of the car with a new set of wheels - Style 130s from an E53 X5. They came out ... surprisingly well, actually. Their intended use is for the winter, and ridding the world of the older alloys that came with the car.

I'm having the car detailed by a professional in the end of July. Can't wait to see what he'll do with it!

Any and all comments appreciated. :)

Those wheels don't look too bad... you're probably the only one with them on your car. It's nice to be different

Thanks for the comments! I really enjoy these wheels, especially when compared to the older ones:

They'll do well for the winter. :)

And I wouldn't envy the summer if I were you, Andy. It's raining, raining and raining!

Steiner - Nice pictures especially the last one 'with blue sky' - makes me very jealous - living in the UK (rain, rain and more rain!)

Maybe you enter one in July photo contest?

Thanks Reevsie! I wish the weather would've stayed like that. I was greeted by rain the following day which has barely let up since then.

But I'm hoping to get an entry into this months contest! I'm thinking about driving to the Blue Lagoon, its surroundings has some very nice features that I'd like to try and capture.

They're 17". If they were 18", I'm sure I'd keep them all year-round!

My father has a set of 19" X5 wheels I'm hoping he'll sell me one day. I think they'd look great under a Z4!

Thanks!

It's great when the roads are good (which sadly isn't always the case). I ended driving into a small puddle of tar which was enough to ruin my driving experience for the day. Had to do all the tar out of my tire using a screwdriver. Tons of fun was had by all!

Seems like the tar ruined one, or both, of my front wheel bearings, which I'll have to get replaced soon.

But, when the roads aren't literally sticking to the car, it's great fun. A convertible in the middle of nowhere is a great headturner as well, and has even warranted some shouts from bystanders. Not a big surprise, seeing as how almost everybody drives a big truck out in the country.

Aye, very nasty swirls. The previous owner had at the car with a washing broom that can be found in the various petrol stations spread around the country. These brooms are very popular with truck drivers, since they do a good job of cleaning their tires and wheels. Needless to say, it ruins the paint.

I'm taking it to a professional in a month. He's capable of amazing things and I can't wait to see the car after he's done with it!
