Z4 and snow

Couldn't tell you what the Z4 is like in the snow. When it did snow I couldn't get my 3 series out of the drive which meant the Z4 was blocked in the garage

Drove my z4 in snow earlier this year and had no problems. That was on summer tyres with 3mm of tread.

Unless you have a foot of snow, it'll be fine. Anyone who says otherwise needs to learn how to drive.

We had 2 zeds up on the moors with only a small amount of snow. Both on 18" the auto had reasonably cheap winter tyres, the manual was on decent summer tyres with plenty of tread. The difference was amazing. Both myself and Guiseley tried to get the one on summer tyres up a hill and both failed. On the winters the car went up easily and that was the auto.

You can tell me I'm a crap driver, but I would seriously recommend winter tyres if you get a reasonable amount of snow.

My street has a slight incline. I was stuck and had to reverse all the way back down. Think it was more ice than anything at that point though :( I must be a bad driver!

My beetle was a beast in snow, overtook many a stuck 4x4 :D

Mmm Slovenia where its er...oh 28C!

OP had you considered an Audi A6 3.0tdi quattro?....I drove had one with winter tyres and it was wonderful in the snow!....I could never figure out how to lower the roof though

I drive my Jeep Grand Cherokee...

winter tyres won't stop someone sliding into my "good" cars, which is more of a concern for me...

they can (and have done) hit the Jeep all they want... it can take the beating, and the dirt, and the salt... lol

I would rather have a good safe car that I don't care about to drive about in bad snowy conditions... plus it means I can help all the morons in X5 / Q7 / Merc "offroaders" when they realise their stupid jumped up car with bandy tyres can't actually move in the snow either....

cueball... helping the community since 2004 hahahaha

yeah, slovenia ftw :) actually, I'm not looking for info if the zed can plow through heaps of snow. I just want to know if I'll be alright if put on some reasonably priced 16' winter tires and not get stuck in the garage or some ditch. that includes fresh snow overnight.

My Q5 is fantastic in the snow on my 20" 'bandy tyres' thank you
