Z4 Amplifier advice

Hi all,

Has anyone got any suggestions for a suitable after market car amplifier that will fit into the original space next to the battery?

I have the standard Z4 sound system with no speakers in the cubby holes at the back. I am thinking about installing an amp, speakers, new headunit etc but would rather avoid a massive amp in the boot if possible.

Thanks!

Have the 10 speaker system for sale if of interest...

I just put an amp next to the battery, changed the door speakers and foot well speakers, put 6x9s in the cubby holes with some sound deadening and changed the head unit. A must if you only have the 6 speaker set up tbh.

Thanks for the replies all.

Haro that looks like the kind of install I had in mind.Do you have any more pics of the work needed to replace the door speakers?

Also can I ask what equipment you used for the install and would you recommend them... amp, head unit, speakers etc.

Thanks

The door speakers are not there if you have the 6 speaker set up. I just bought from memory 4" 2 way speakers and put them in, tapping into the tweeter cable and fitting some soundproofing to the door at the same time. The 6x9s were just made from a template using card and then cut to MDF. It's all Alpine apart from the head unit but really anything would be an improvement, even if it was just changing the head unit and fitting decent door speakers to start with.
