broker who quotes you over a grand to insure a car that is only worth £6k.

The value of your car has no relation to the £50k Audi/ BMW/ Merc you crash into though, or the £25k reconstructive surgery bills :poke:

25 with astronomical insurance. Hoping it will drop significantly this year now I've reached the 'adult' threshold (well, according to the insurance companies, anyway).

43. First Zed. Daily driver. Free insurance (well, not quite, it is a company car - so I pay through the nose in tax).

If that was the case everyone would pay the same based on crashing into brand spanking Italian Exotica.

55 and about 28 in the head -

the comments about old mans car might stem from the fact that it was an expensive car when first available - perhaps only the more 'mature' waged with more disposable income could afford them? Now more accessible through price and what a buy!

Also has a look above it's value in my opinion - it does not look cheap - in any case its about what you want in a car and I would hazard a guess that those making comments aren't knowledgeable or passionate about driving? A Zed's looks appeal to all ages in my experience and impress all - old young, knowlegeable or not - it just has that 'supercar' look

I'm always surprised by the spread of ages on this forum - the key thing is we all have a enthusiasm for the Z4 irrespective of age.
Me, I have a full head of silver white hair and I don't give a damn - top down needless double declutching to hear the exhaust, every roundabout and bend a pleasure - it's their loss or maybe they get their kicks another way...? :D

Each to their own whatever your age - and what about old 'women'? My wife loves driving the Zed at 52, rides and loves motorcycles too - maybe that's why I'm with her!

I was 38 when I got my zed & turn 40 in September, the zed does seem to appeal to all ages, it's a very attractive proposition in all guises :driving:

I had just turned 22 when i bought my Z4MC hand have loved every minute of it. Had it just over a year or so now :D

I sold my Speedster and two bikes to buy the Zed in anticipation of moving to Germany. You should have seen the looks when I took off my helmet when I was out and about on the Husqvarna super motard. Most were in shock to see a folicly challenged 52 year old riding a hooligan bike doing wheelies from every light. And stoppies pulling up to the next light. Or the fact that I was still riding dirt bikes (WR450F) until 48. I only stopped due to breaking both hands and hurting my left knee. All in one accident. Yes! That hurt like hell.

I say the heck with those that demand one act a certain way because of one's age. If you are able to be active. You should be active and young at heart. You never know when your age might catch you up.:oldman:

No you're right and as we are not all paying the same premium it must not be the case....

Damn these large insurance companies ripping us off, keeping thousands of people in employment.....scum.

If only the market was privately owned, with many competitors in the marketplace and better yet, information sources for us to use so that we know we are getting the best premium possible....that would definitely drive premiums down to a fair level....

A boy can dream!

If everybody was to pay the same it would be interesting what we would pay. Take the average of everyone and it would be interesting to know. My son and daughter would be happy with that but I wouldn't.

I can't help being 59. I don't care what others think. Now that the kids have grown up, I can go back to being the 19 year old I was when I couldn't afford it. I'm no ones taxi service.

27 when I bought thefirst rwd roadster, 30 when I bought the first Zed, 33 when I bought the second... :driving:

Yeah well, ask me the same question in a few years and I bet you I am still driving the same Zed I do now ... Does that make it more tolerable for you as well Stuart? :P

I'm about to turn 50. Nothing is tolerable as I am officially a grumpy old man. Bah, I say Bah Humbug! :)
