Z4 age group?

I am 66 in April and don't have any difficulty getting in and out of my Z4 but I regard myself as fit for my age whereas they are many overweight lard arses walking around in their 20's who clearly don't exercise and would have extreme difficulty getting behind the wheel.

47 in 2 weeks got my first BMW at 25 E30 318 wish i still had it :( owned BMWs since never been told its an old mans car the only reason people said its an old mans car is because insurance companies hit young drivers so hard now :-x:-x

I collect my old age pension in July when I reach 65. I bought the Z4 in October after all three of my children individually threw up their hands in horror at the idea I was going to revert to the days of my youth on a motor cycle. I have no problem getting in and out, though initially it took a bit of practice. My other car is a VW Touran (or Tourette as they call it at work), a wonderful practical seven seater if the two in the back are petite, quiet, smooth, very economical, just the opposite of the Z.

My four year old grand daughter was most interested to hear that Grandpa had a new toy but still can't understand that a car can be a toy. I did buy her a radio controlled Z4 Coupe for Christmas and she's very fond of it.

51 Got it last year, taken some stick from my mates but who cares, I can afford to insure it, dont need the room for child seat blah blah so why not.

27, almost 28 :s and got it this year.

My dad bought a Coupe last year (on my advice) and he's 64.

It's great fun hooning around with the two of them - I think the style works for both young(er) and old(er) drivers.

To me the styling is aggressive and young from the rear haunches and sides, and older towards the front and nose which probably helps it's appeal across the age groups.

25 and looking to get a Z4M coupé this summer/ autumn.

I've heard people call them hairdressers or a girls car (I assume because of the car's size and that some people like having the roadster, which is obviously only for girls) but I've never heard old mans car.

Normally when I've heard that a car is an old man's car, it's because normally only middle aged and older people could afford one.

Take it as a compliment.

think I need to move up north!

Only reason I didn't get an M was the insurance.

What was the difference between yours and the M?

When I've looked at quotes there was only about £100 difference between the 3.0 coupé and the ///M

wowza, how old are you? Is it because you are younger than 25?

I had a Mini Cooper S when I was 22, but as I hadn't been accruing my own NCB until I left uni I had less than <2 years and many insurers wouldn't "sensibly" quote me, I ended up paying £1200, which was the only sensible quotation I received.

As soon as you hit 25, suddenly it becomes a different world...

I was quoted £500 for a 3.0 SI Sport coupe or £600 for an ///M coupé

I'm 21.

currently paying 1275 for my 3.0si coupe. Only £300 more expensive than my Smart Brabus (no logic at all here!)

painfully extricate themselves from their Zed

At 55 I sometimes resemble that remark. But the painful extraction has more to do with skiing and dirtbikes.

If one wants a painful egress or ingress at any age. Get in or out of one of these with the hood up. The top of the window opening while the hood was up would be lower than waist height on an average person. I would sit on the edge of the seat and have to pull the back of my head forward. And I would still end up with the top pulling off my cap.
