Needs an M bonnet though and those seats and steering wheel are just not right

Just noticed, look at the lack of switches in front of the gear stick ?.....there is only two, must be for the roof ?....does this think have no traction control ?

Remember in countries other than the UK a manual roof was available, this must have one, the buttons are for DSC and TPM.

The floor mats are also a little cheap looking

Maybe to keep it as std as poss as it was/is a track 5lag! :)

I can understand the Hartge car from a technological exercise point of view but to be honest you can get as much or more power/torque by supercharging a 3.0.

What about reliability?

I've never heard of a 3.0 S/C blowing yet. Once you go over the 400hp level you have to fit uprated pistons and rods but thats no big deal. It saves all the hassle of fabricating one off parts to fit the V8 and it saves all the software compatibility issues. I'm not sure of the figures but I'm sure the 3.0 will be lighter than the V8 too. Ess has done 40k track miles in their S/C M3 CSL ( which holds the Nurburgring street legal lap record ) and they have never rebuilt the engine. That says it all to me as far as reliability goes. Bet the V8 sounds good though!

it'd be awesome, though that kind of (but not really at all) makes it a Z8

I've always thought the ultimate swap would be our car with the M5 V10 :D ..maybe one day
