In power to weight then there's not a lot between the cars, but the 35iS does win. However, in the power to aero drag the Z4 does a lot better & so as the speeds increase it just pulls away. I may have been exaggerating the advantage and the 8 mph was actually 8 km/h. Still quite a big advantage[/quote]

Regarding MPG, impressive figures but I think your driving style helps significantly.

As the MPG in an 28i I have achieved average of 50+ MPG on long runs and not exceeding 60 Mph and keeping it smooth and no breaking

No doubt, but it does show how economical the car can be given the right driving style. It's not like this is peak of 35iS fuel economy either as I do love to hear the engine howl.

Only 32mpg ? that`s Not good ! surprised at that. I`am getting 40mpg in our 640d & that`s mixed driving the 20miles to work & back, 42/45 on a run. Think that`s fantastic for such a large barge. :thumbsup:

20 mile commute - all quietish backroads. It's the only driving I do.

On a run to my Mums in Humberside & back got 40mpg.

cars on 6k miles now so it might improve :driving:
 
Having not reset the avg calculation for the first 24000, I had 28 mpg with a lot of fast motorway and weekend basts.

For the next 3000 I am averaging 31 mpg again with a lot of motorway

If on a 259 mile steady trip to work I can achieve 34 - 36 mpg, but that just boring.

The 35is get many more smiles to the gallon than most. And that's what is important.
 
I went for a 2.8i as I was told it would be much better than the 3.5i - no so I only get 25 mpg best - mind i do have a heavy right foot according to a traffic cop! :evil:

Still thinking about a 3.5i some good deals out there :thumbsup:
 
I get 18mpg on my commute etc. I rag it around though. Tyres are the bigger cost! I get about 22mpg when mixed with some motorway runs.
 
I average 20.5 - but I do quite a bit of town driving, and I drive it in manual mode sport+ :driving:

Although when I have to drive sensibly then I do manage 35, even saw 48 on a stead 55 mph flat road.
 
I'm currently getting 30mpg mixture of A road blasts and in town where I like to make a lot of noise :evil:

When we went to SS Classic with the Zed sticking to the limits and a few blasts I did 48.7mpg, all the boys on the GTR stand almost fell over. Was a lot of shocked faces until they saw the figures on the iDrive.

Better than the 13mpg I'm currently getting out of the Rangie.
