You must driving the 28i with some enthusiasm
In power to weight then there's not a lot between the cars, but the 35iS does win. However, in the power to aero drag the Z4 does a lot better & so as the speeds increase it just pulls away. I may have been exaggerating the advantage and the 8 mph was actually 8 km/h. Still quite a big advantage[/quote]techathy said:That said, the 35iS did feel stronger than the M135i at the top end when the N55 engine just began to struggle compared. I suppose once at those speeds you are getting the revs where the 'breathlessness' begins to cause more of a noticeable issue.
I think your right with the drag factor helping the E89
E89
drag coefficient 0.34
frontal area 1.96 m²
cda 0.67
F20
drag coefficient 0.34
frontal area 2.14 m²
cda 0.73
Regarding MPG, impressive figures but I think your driving style helps significantly.
As the MPG in an 28i I have achieved average of 50+ MPG on long runs and not exceeding 60 Mph and keeping it smooth and no breaking
