After a 15 month absence I am almost back :) Remember, the downgrade to the crappie little hyundai as we bought a house? Well probably not.

Anyway, I am really missing the Zed and am looking to TRY and rejoin the fold if I can convince the missus now that our post-move finances have settled :D I used to have the 20i but am looking for something a bit faster such as at least the 28i. Mind you a quick quote on drivethedeal is showing a sdrive35i (no options) for almost £12k off the list price at around £31k :o 8)

So my question is to recent sdrive35i buyers, is this type of mega discount really achievable?? Wouldn't be an immediate purchase, probably later in the year during winter.

Thanks in advance for your help
You will definitely get that discount from your local Bmw dealership and possibly more with some hard haggling

However these offers are only around just now. I doubt they'll be keeping this going for the next 5 to 6 months. You can only but try when You get to that time but the discounts change all the time. You can only get this discount just now and some dealers offer a better deal than others. Come November/December/January/February who knows.

Or....go to Broadspeed and buy a 35is for a grand more (32k) and get the is-specific grille and exhaust, adaptive suspension, dual clutch transmission, extra HP at same emissions and fuel consumption :D

i wouldnt go to broadspeed. put in a serious enquiry last week. had a phonecall immediately to confirm my interest, was told a salesperson would ring me to discuss further and then absolutely nothing since. ended up doing the deal with stratstone bmw in derby on saturday

i would imagine there would still be some decent deals come winter time especially if the production run is coming to an end but who knows for sure

Well I got a response, progressed my inquiry and then decided to go with Stratstone Hull in the end. The chap running Broadspeed took it rather personally...

Apart from your experience there do seem to be plenty of positive reviews and it's hard to beat their prices on certain cars.

Thanks for all your feedback, much appreciated! These discounts are stunning!

Really annoying that I am not in a position right now to get one and guess can only hope that they continue the big discounts. Out of curiosity so that I can do some sums - what sort of residual value does the 35is have after 3 or 4 years under a PCP deal?

Thanks again

Well, it is in the drive ... and looks great. 3/4 of a tank of fuel yesterday and no doubt more today ! The noise is great ... the pops and burble on over run are superb without being as loud as a 'proper' straight through exhaust. Just the right level.

The car certainly feels quite a bit quicker than my Z4M Roadster ... Every time I got to a straight it made me smile !

It is covered in holograms where the dealer used a machine polisher too quickly. Once I have cleaned it properly I will put some pics up.

Bmw gave me a guaranteed future value of 16.5k :o on mine after 3 years would hope it would have some equity on top of that

Those large discounts cant be helping the residuals for you, but i suppose you cant have it both ends :!:

Wow, would have expected that type of figure after 4 years! :o

Thanks again and in the immortal words of Arnie, if I manage to get one ordered, I'll be back 8)

Re residuals who knows really. Currently a 4 year old one can be had under AUC for 27-30k and around 23-24k private if not more. Very small production of the 35is which is due to stop next month and if they don't replace it with anything then it will help to keep the values strong.

At last report there was 212 35is Z4s in the UK of which 2 were SORN. Need to wait and see how many more have been purchased during these discounts. And how many have been binned, if any.
