I agree, why not, some cat D cars are a cracking deal (no pun intended) as long as you know what you are getting and the price is good

The problem isn’t buying for me. It is more the selling.

Each to their own though.

Yes I agree, but if you are looking at keeping it for quite a while and know its history, not a big issue, yes you will have to make it attractive price wise when you sell it, but that's offset by buying it at a reduced rate,

It’s not just price which is an issue. I find that you’re also limited on who you can sell your car to.

For example some BMW main dealers would refuse to take your Cat D motor as a deposit on a part-exchange...

For me it’s just a headache and I would rather avoid.

Having said that OP - GLWS

Under £10k :? surely a forum guy can find a home for this

I don’t think many forum members would buy a Cat D unfortunately :?

Iam a forum member, been here few years and did buy it as a cat D, it wasn't my first ZED so kind of knew what I was getting myself into.
To be honest I didnt regret it one bit and never gave me the slightest hassle.
It is true that they are a bit slow to sell but I had it for 2 years and I am in no hurry for it to go.
As mentioned above, if you are planning to keep it for few years then you can ceratainly have a car that I can confidently say it is in a much better shape than many non-catD Z4s out there (seen that when I was buying) and for much less.

I never get cars on finance and when I was looking for a Z4 I couldnt really afford a 35i.But again each to their own !

On eBay now !!!

The car has now been sold to a happy new owner !!

As I have mentioned in the initial post that the first to see it will buy it and indeed he did buy t on the spot .... I am sure he will not be disappointed especially for the money he paid.

He basically wanted to take it there and then so now I am struggling without a car, I am now looking a cheap and cheerful run about if anyone has something around the Berkshire region !!

Good news on the sale.

Shame you are carless though! Sadly you're 2 months too late for my cheapy 325ti Sport.

Good luck with your search.
