Z4 3.0si Sport does my back in . . .

Very firm suspension I know, especially considering the current state of British roads. Recent dry run to Southwold did my back in. Will I get used to it?

You can also consider going up a profile size on the tyres. Eibachs are less 'crashy' while still about as firm and some new shocks may well help.

That is one thing I don't miss from the M, the fear every time I saw a hairline crack in the road ...

Maybe smaller 17's with non runflats or if keeping your wheels even go for a taller than stock tyre profile from the M...

So 255/40/18 rear and 225/45/18 fronts.

But i share the same view as PVR.... As much as i loved my Z i dont miss the poor ride or tramlining...

Or 16's  sorry, that's mean.

You could also go to non sport suspension but I think OE is the only option. So the springs will break!

Spend some time playing with the seat position. Took me ages to find the right setup, and it hurt my back at first too. I found that more upright and closer to the wheel than you'd expect works for me.

OP, try to find a smooth, empty, twisty road with good sightlines and give it some welly - you're sure to forget about your back! :D

Scooba Steve, I don't think 16s fit an E86 - SEs had 17s as standard!

Strangely the first E86 I tried was an SE (with optional 18s - RFTs on the front and non-RFTs on the back :!: ) and I don't remember it feeling significantly different to the Sport I ended up buying that is on 18s with RFTs! But I couldn't see why then even made an E86 without the Sport seats!

Bing may have a good point there too!

I had this problem. I made some spacers to lift the front of the seat rail. Following advice on hear I think?? It seemed to work for me. Happy to make you a set to try?

A decent set of rubber is your best shout..

Tend not to get a bad back driving my Zed, just a numb bum if I'm in it for more than an hour or so :driving:
