Z4 3.0si roof motor replacement

Good evening all,

I have had the seemingly frequent fault with my Z4 3.0si (2006) ... the roof has stopped working, probably meaning the roof motor has corroded :(

I understand this is because its located in a place that collects water as it gets bunged with debris down a channel to the side near the door.

Having seen a couple of youtube videos, the replacement seems quite daunting to try ... any suggestions? I live near Woking if anyone has any ideas ...

Thanks in advance!

Hi, there's a guy called "bowser" who's not that far from you-he's a bmw tech I believe & offers a relocation to the boot service
There's a few others that do this as well but scattered round the uk.

Hi Rob,

That's great thanks, yeah would be good to speak with Bowser, good to get the roof sorted for the summer!

Cheers!

I don't think you can PM him yet until you have a certain number of posts , but if you post on his thread an maybe quote him I'm sure he'll get back you

Have replied to your PM. Woking is 15 mins from me.

Thanks for recommendation guys :)

It's dead easy to remove and fix it. Takes less then hour even if you never done or before. I did 8 cars and all motors been saved by cleaning them which makes very cheap fix.
