Z4 3.0si Roadster - good deal?

I've been in the market for a Z4 3.0si Roadster for a few weeks and have put some money down and I'm wondering if I've got a good deal...

The car is a silver grey on a 2007/56 plate with 30K miles. I think most of the stuff is part of the base spec, but it does have sat-nav. The alloys are the standard 18" alloys (not the 108s sadly!).

I'm getting it for £14.5K from a BMW main dealer, so it'll be an approved used car with 12months warranty. Is it a good deal given the relatively high mileage?

That sounds about right. I've seen a few 2.5Si's with 30-40k for £14.5k at used traders with ~ 12months manufacturer warranty still outstanding, so I'd say from a main dealer that is a good price for a 3.0Si!

Having been watching the classifieds for a while now, BMW dealers seem to be getting their prices for the 3.0 models at least, into line with the private and used car dealer values... so all good for those buying them. They must be offering pretty terrible trade in prices to current owners though :o

Correct! I got a trade-in price on my SLK last week (out of interest as I knew it would be bad) and luckily I was sitting down at the time

If anything the trade is now so scared of taking anything in p/x that the prices they are offering are just crazy. I know, who can blame them, and no doubt they all got their fingers severely burnt on stock cars they already held before the crunch, but even still.

Looks like a pretty good deal to me, a 2007/56 like that would have been up at late twenties a year ago, and probably buyable for mid-twenties.

With the warranty, you always get 12 months, but if the manufacturers 36 month warranty has longer to run you'll get the full benefit of it, so you might squeeze in an extra month or so, worth having I suppose.

my 3.0si without sat nav but with most other things, 15k on the clock and just serviced was bought for 15.5k from main dealer so it does sound a good deal mate

Well sounds good to me as long as the car is in good condition the price seems OK for your area and most important you are very happy with the condition of the car and its what you want go for it as in a years time they will be even cheaper not that thats worth worrying about i paid 17.5K for my 2004 3.0se Auto with only 11.5k on the clock last Jan which was a good price in London (had seen cheaper cars at the time and have seen them now but no where near the condition i wanted) the car was like new lots of options the colour i wanted and all the spec i wanted i was happy and still am a year down the road and she still looks mint and today sailed through the M.O.T :D

Welcome great colour choice

Hi mate and welcome you will love the car, just curious but did you trade in a car against the z and if so was it a good offer or not ?

That's a brilliant deal. I bought my 03 3.0 in June for £ 13k with 31k on, which at the time I thought was a good deal. So to get a 07 model for 14.5 k is amazing. One hell of a lot of car for your money. My mate has just bought a full spec'd SLK350 on a 55 plate with 21k for 16,250. A really nice example too. Quality cars have never been so cheap.

Hi All!

Thanks for the welcome and confirmation that it's a good deal! I didn't do a trade-in as I sold my previous car (an Audi TT 2.0 coupe) a couple of weeks ago.

I picked up the car today as I had done the deal on the phone. The body work had a few scratches - a couple of deep ones and a couple of minor surface scratches plus the expected stone chips at the front. Other than the few scratches, the body work is in excellent condition (i.e. no dents). I was going to walk away as the sales guy had told me that the bodywork was in excellent condition, but he has offered to get it repaired at a BMW bodyshop (local to me) for free. One of the fron tyres is also on the way out, but he assured me that it was well within the legal limit.

When I test drove the car, I soon forgot about the (soon to fixed) issues with the bodywork. This car is just so quick and sounds absolutely amazing! I had a 2.5i when the Z4 first came out, but this feels and drives like a totally different car. I just have to be careful driving it now as I don't want to loose my license!

Can anyone recommend the best BMW dealer with a bodyshop in the South West London area? Although the scratches are fairly small, I know theyr'e there and want them sorted as soon as possible.

I'll post some pictures when I get the paintwork sorted.
