Z4 3.0si Part Discontinued

I have recently been rebuilding a z4 3.0si sub frame and nearly had to buy an new output shaft. I called BMW and quoted the following part number 33207571054. Which is the drivers side output shaft for an automatic. This part has now been discontinued and if you can find one listed they are now priced at £659 brand new. £200 more than what BMW once sold them for.

Thankfully I was able.to remove the rusted nut from the shaft and salvaged the originals.

If you are unfortunate and do need to replace, try America. There where a number listed and UK imported priced them around £300 second hand.

We got her undone though

I am presuming this is part of the subframe post on Zroadster forum ?

How did you get the nut off just in case ( more than likely knowing my luck ) mine are the same ?

Used a rounded die grinder round the head, then a domed die grinder to make a hole one side. Followed by the big hammer and chizzle. I have photos on my phone. I've kept all the photos off social media as its Tom's coupe, with his blessing I'll do a build thread at some point.
