z4 3.0si engine cover

Hi there,
I have a question regarding the colour of the plastic engine cover on the z4 3.0si. When I went to look at one at my local dealership, the engine cover had a silver colour, and when I collected mine a few weeks ago it had a black cover. Does anyone have any idea of whether this means anything (i.e different power output etc) or is it Inconsequential?

Is this on a new car or on the car in your sig (i.e. an '03 3.0i)? My '06 3.0si is silver, but the pre facelift 3.0 were black.

sorry, the photos on my sig are of my old Z4. My new one is an August 2007 3.0si and appears to have a black engine cover

oh god not this again,

ALL N52 Engines made in 2006 had silver covers,

Then from Model year 2007 onwards ALL engine covers are now black, There are no more silver covers,

the N54 TT always had the black cover

What is your build date? Mine was 08/06 when I had my previous Z and it had the silver cover,
My brother in laws build date is 07/07 and he has the black cover, So at some point between those 2 dates the silver cover stopped,
