z4 3.0i Wind Noise above 90

Hi there

So a year on from the 'Big Off' the car is running spot on thank god apart from the wind noise. At anything above 80ish (where legal) it starts to whistle and gets worse the faster you go! ive narrowed it down to the rubber around the window which is attached to the frame rather than the roof. Any ideas on how I can resolve this? Im sure I saw Ed on wheeler dealers put something inside the rubbers to 'pack' them out once.
My 'Ed' is useless and told me the best thing to do would be to drive below 80! :x

we have put gummi pfledge on all the rubbers and don't have the problem

but failing that, you could always put the roof down :evil:

Thanks had never heard of gummi, ordered some from Ebay will see how that does.
Never heard of a the window reset either, will give that a go now!

of course, silly me :rofl: ... err, but wouldn't hood down be in order there? :?
 
My wind deflector is as useless as a choc fire guard! Not that I would know what its like to drive at 140 with the hood down! :fuelfire:

LMAO

Well the window reset has made a difference, the wind noise doesn't kick in until 95-100 (KPH of course! :rofl: )
Gummi has arrived so will put some on when it stops raining and see if that helps...
 
So how good is this Gummi? As I have never heard of it how do you use it and what does it do, as I also have wind noise on the drivers side with the roof up! Where is the best place to buy it.

Update

Well, the window reset made a slight difference it helped keep the noise down until 90 mph or so and the gummi has helped a little more as it now only makes a noise between 95-100 (kph of course! :P )

I have spotted a crease in the rubber in the area where the noise is coming from. Its near the point where the frame rubber meets the roof rubber. Its slightly narrower and im thinking it just needs packing out a'la Ed China of wheeler dealers, anyone know what to use?

A lot of S2000 owners lube their seals with silicone grease - it works very well and is incredibly cheap.

Thanks for the advice... Its fine at the moment upto 120 so will see how we go.
