This year I just went over 200k and have had no major issues. I keep up with the maintenance etc. Oil changed every 3-5k. I was lucky the previous 2 owners had a great maintenance record's. I did get the CCV, Disa and head gasket done this year. But other than normal stuff oil, tires, breaks suspension, ignition coils that's it. It still has original Vanos and clutch (no history of replacement). Stealer dealer and a Indy stated cleanest one he has seen. And doesn't recommend any work at this time (says vanos , clutch are fine). Now it is only a nice weather car and gets about 3-5k put on a year so not abused or raced. Hope this helps in your concerns about mileage.

Paid $7k for my 05 3.0i stickshift with 118k miles on it but most of the plastic inside is rotting and crumbling 
I thought I had a good deal. Now looking at the costs of the replacements even from salvage yards is like draining me wallet arghh.
