Wow what can I say , the Z is a amazing. The way it drives , handles and pulls is in a different league compared to my old TT.

I got a couple of questions though ...

when I unlock the car, the drivers window goes down , what's that all about ?

Sport Button , yes it feels more responsive, but how does it work ? Does it just allow more petrol in to the engine?

oh and the signal on the radio is pants , how do I go about improving it ? also speaker upgrades , any suggestions ?

Congrats! Have you got a stubby? That will deteriorate the reception...

This is the thing, It's the standard aerial....
 
Hi good choice to go with the zed, if you have a roadster the window will drop a little to clear the hood if it opens all the way it is properly been programed into the key fob.
 
Joe - sounds like your having fun.

In terms of the sport button.
On manual it changes the throttle sensitivity so in effect just makes you think it's faster. Really no difference at all !!
reduces the power steering assistance for more feel

Auto
Changes the shift points and firms up the changes making a world of difference.

Reception - you have a problem then if you have standard aerial. You need to check the connections in the boot and make sure the aerial across the rear of the bumper is not damaged.

Window. You have some coding error or fault unless you simply mean the window drops 1/2" which is to allow the roof seal to release and door open

plus, if you have cruise control, in sport mode it will return to a memorised speed more quickly

When you hold the unlock button for a bit longer the windows go down completely, to allow for easier entry in tight parking spaces.

how long and/or how many times are you pressing the open button for?

there appear to be at least 4 options

1) unlock : unlocks the car
2) * available in certain countries
2a) unlock : unlocks drivers door
2b) unlock - unlock : unlocks drivers door and then the rest of the locks
3) unlock - pause - unlock : unlocks car and drops driver's window for easy access (programmable option)
4) hold unlock : unlocks car and drops both windows (and soft top)

these are supposed to work from the remote or by using the key in the door lock
3 does not work on my coupe, but 1 & 4 both do from remote or key in door (and closing the windows when locking)
 
I was going to mention option 3 above as that was my first thought and a known option on facelift models

I didn't realise if affected the cruise control. How exactly do you activate the memory on the cruise control? I rfted the cc and didn't realise it had a memory function.
 
Oh and congrats on the car JOE90 - as you'll be able to tell by everyone on this forums enthusiasm they get better and better.
 
3 doesn't go for me.

2a, 2b and 4 here in the US.

Also, pressing the lock button then press and hold gets doors to lock then windows to roll up. On my E46 325Ci, it would make the windows go up and the sunroof close. Don't know if it will make the roof/hood go up or not on the Z.
 
I've got the "premium package" (I think that's what it's called on mine. When I unlock...pause unlock(hold) the windows go down all the way and then the power top recedes in to the trunk compartment.

Congrats on the new car Joe, I just picked mine up last week.
