Z4 3.0 or 350Z

As an aside, some woman last week was showing her friends how fast her Mitsubishi Galant is and managed to lose control and crash into my wife which is now causing me no end of stress. If you want to go fast, do it where there's no one around or better yet, go to a track. Let's make people like Fire N Ice complain about how boring their job is after we all learn to behave and drive responsibly.

Hope your wife is doing okay.

Take care.

we have both a 350z and a Z4 in the family.

to help answer your questions, here's a video of a drag between my Z4(2.5L 5spd) and my mum's 350Z(auto)

here's another drag between my Z4 against a Z4 3.0SMG.

if you sort of mentally combine the 2 videos, you'd figure that the 350Z would still out-accelerate the 3.0L Z4.

hope this helps.

The 3.0si is significantly faster than the 3.0i. In my experience, the 3.0si is faster than the new Mustang GT, EVO, STi, 2006 350z, G35C, 650i vert, and 1 car-length behind the 335i. All stock, of course.

nice videos, i would expect as much since 350 has so much more power, but i wonder how much time difference there would be in a track with a lot of twisties

I had this a few months ago before I purchased my car. The z3 3.0 was fun, but a bit slow, the 350z felt nice to drive but the performance was a hugely disappointing. I really thought it was going to be great to drive but it didn't feel quick at all. So I was stuck, finally i decided to try an alpina and I was blown away, what an engine.
It all depends what car you are coming from both the z4 and the 350z felt slow coming from a very quick 'grale, maser ghibli and maser 4200 spyder. The Alpina did not feel slow!
If you were coming from an s2000 or something like that, it would be fine.
