Shame it's se spec in silver but a cheap way into a coupe with a warranty!
Just spotted it on the Trader. Looks a nice entry point as you say, especially if you’re going to modify.

all dealers have to offer a warranty by law, even if it isnt worth the paper its written on

I bought an PX 5 yr old Volvo V50, from Volvo and a mate serviced it and said that the steering pump is leaking
Me on call to Volvo where I got it . Said the warranty was a 'decent quality one'
Me: We have found that the power steering pump is leaking onto the undertray
Volvo : OK, so is it still working ?
Me: Well yes, but it will in time fail and personally anything to do with steering need rectification before total failure
Volvo: Er. We cant do anything until it breaks
Me: Really ? You want my steering to suddenly fail and potentially damage the steering rack in the process and risk mine and my families lives ?
Volvo : Sorry, but its not broken...............

:x

Time this thread was brought back to life
Last 6 months has seen a lot of very decent coupes for sale / sold , granted at 13yrs old there are some dogs out there but anyone looking right now should be homing in on this one , its a auto ( ive had 3 & they make the perfect pairing with the 3.0Si in coupe form)
The monaco blue is such a rarity in the E85 E86 world & just 60k at £8k seems like depreciation proof Z ownership

Forum car https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=118236

A decent looking black coupe with new tyres, a saleable private plate and the offer of a fresh MOT for £4,750, it has 139k miles so needs checking over it but seems like it might be a cheap car.

That car was on the forum for a while and was advertised for sale here.

Whoever bought it tried to sell it on almost immediately, like within about 2 weeks.

My next door neighbour went to look at it ( think it’s somewhere near Glastonbury) but bought an E89 instead.

I think I might need to stop reading this thread - it's making me sad!

Then again mine is a keeper (for now anyway).

Interesting to see the coupes coming down into the low 4s and mid 5s.

Does anyone have any insights on this? Is this a random bout or could we see more of it?

I'm personally not too fussed about miles and spec (last car was an RS2000!) so I'm thinking it could be a good gateway.

+1 - even though mine is a lowish miler I wouldn't like to imagine what I could get for it now if I was to sell it. Prices of the Coupe have seriously crashed.

I have thought about selling and getting a Lotus Elise, problem is everytime I look at my Zed my heart just goes naaaaah.

Not seen many at those sort of prices, and certainly no properly decent ones.

Having said that, £6500-£7,000 is the starting point for a properly maintained, good quality, Sub 100k E86... if you’re prepared to be patient and do the miles to find the right car

I have been thinking about selling mine for a couple of weeks.
A mate has offered me first refusal on his 911.
Was tempted to answer a wanted ad in the classifieds.
Not sure what to ask though.
Relatively low miles at 47k.
Took it it for a drive today and changed my mind again.

Never seen one in the £4s but imagine if you actually viewed one at £5k it would clear why it was cheap and be a right dog.

My red one listed in the classifieds for £8k sold in just 2 days with 2 other viewings planned.

So my view is the demands still clearly present.

I sold a coupe for 4K nothing wrong with it and was well specced just up on the miles and needed a sale, funny how people just presume a car is rough because it’s well priced, my buyer flew in from Scandinavia and drove it home and was very happy with it even emailing me from Scandinavia to tell me how pleased he was.

Only way to find out is to look as you never know when a bargain is lurking.

Yes, I can relate to that too.

I replied to a wanted post on here and ended up taking a deposit on my 1st one the evening of the day I had taken it for a decent last drive. 2 days later I viewed my current one and left a deposit!

Agree - but as you say, high miles, you needed the sale and priced it attractively at what it was worth to you - but 4 to 5k is not the norm - yet! They have still probably got a way to go yet. Won't be considered a classic until the oldest is about 20 years old i reckon
