Z4 3.0 Center (3rd) break light out

Hey guys;

When i was baking up towards some glass doors i saw that my center break light was not working. It must of been a recent development since i checked all my lights just a few weeks ago. Anyways; i just wanted to get some feedback on what could be at fault before i start taking things apart. Has anyone had any issues with this? The car is a 2003 3.0 and i am hitting 97k miles soon. I am assuming its the 1st brake light, but there is no visitable damage to the enclosure or deterioration.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

First thing would be to check it's still connected. Not heard of one failing before, only where one or two LED's have stopped working.

I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago as it had cracked, used this guide:

It was pretty straight forward, just needed to buy an 8mm long reach socket from Halfords.

Opened it up and its sill connected. I guess before i replace it i will have to check if the unit itself is working. Ill try to hook it up to a power supply on monday at work. Are there any other connections that could be loose?

Ok just tested to connection to the 3rd break light; 0V. This leads me to the conclusion that there is some kind fault then the actual light. Are there any other points of failure you guys know about? Is there a individual fuse for the 3rd break light? Or a plug in the engine compartment that may of gotten lose?

Any ideas are appreciated!
